Ingredients you will need

Most of the ingredients needed for this dish are basic pantry staples.

Peeled and Cleaned Jumbo Prawns: This dish calls for shell-less prawns so they absorb the flavors well. These are a lifesaver because you don’t have to spend time removing shells and cleaning. Just empty the prawns straight into a bowl and start seasoning!

Cut Frozen Beans: A weeknight lifesaver! Because they are flash-frozen at peak ripeness, frozen beans often retain more vitamins than “fresh” supermarket produce that has spent days in transport—unless, of course, you’re buying them freshly picked from a local farm.

How to Make Butter Garlic Prawn and Bean Stir Fry

Step 1 – Marinate the prawns with white pepper, sweet paprika, turmeric powder, onion powder, dried dill, and salt

Step 2 – Get your non-stick pan smoking hot over high heat before adding the prawns. Add the prawns in a single layer and turning them once as they cook. Cook them quickly—just 1 to 2 minutes total—to lock in their juices and keep them tender.

Step 3 – Remove the grilled prawns from the pan keep a side

Step 4 – Now add the frozen beans in hot pan cook for about a minute tossing. Important to use the high heat to avoid for frozen beans to release water in the pan

Step 5 – Then add the butter and minced garlic in the pan and mix well

Step 6 – Now add the grilled prawns and lime juice to the pan with the beans. Toss on medium heat for 1 minute, then remove from the heat and serve over white rice or creamy coconut rice.

Ingredients

For the Prawns & Marinade:

  • 500 g jumbo prawns peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbs sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried dill
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste

For the Pan & Stir-Fry:

  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 2 large garlic cloves minced
  • 1.5 cups frozen green beans
  • 1 tbs fresh lime juice

Instructions

  • Marinate the Prawns:Place the peeled prawns in a medium bowl. Add the sweet paprika, onion powder, white pepper, dried dill, turmeric powder, and salt and olive oil. Toss well until the prawns are evenly coated in the spice blend. Set aside for 5–10 minutes while preparing the pan.
  • Sear the Prawns:Heat a large skillet or pan over high heat. Add the marinated prawns in a single layer and grill them, turning sides, until cooked through and nicely seared. Transfer the cooked prawns to a plate and set aside.
  • Cook the Green Beans:In the same hot pan, add the frozen green beans. Cook over high heat until completely thawed—the high heat will evaporate any moisture instantly so no water releases into the pan.
  • Build the Garlic Butter Sauce:Reduce heat slightly, then add the unsalted butter and minced garlic directly to the beans. Cook together until the garlic is fragrant and the green beans are perfectly cooked through in the garlic butter.
  • Combine & Serve:Return the grilled prawns to the pan with the beans and pour in the lime juice and some chilli flakes (Optional) . Mix well over the heat for 1 minute so the prawns absorb that rich garlic butter sauce, then remove from heat. Serve immediately with warm white rice or creamy coconut rice!
